Contest introduced the 55 CS project, a new
17-metre yacht. After launching their first 85-footer
last year, the yard is now focusing once again on
medium-sized boats like the 55 CS.
The Contest 55 CS has been designed by the Vrolijk
studio and, like all models in the CS range, is going
to be a deck saloon yacht made for sailing under any
weather and sea conditions. The total lack of pro-
tection at aft for the helmsman raises some doubts
about the possibility of sailing this boat at low lati-
tudes, even if she would be perfectly suitable from
a structural point of view. But except for the most
extreme seas which very few would dare to face, the
Contest 55 CS will be able to take her owner whe-
rever they want. Structurally sound and built with a
care and dedication that is rare nowadays, Contest
yachts are among the best boats of this kind availa-
ble on the market at present. Several interior layouts
are available, but if none of them meets the buyer's
needs, it is always possible to request a custom
modification. Both aluminium and carbon masts are
available and the options for deck equipment range
from the sportier to the kind of set up more appro-
priate to longer cruises with a small crew.
