101 SVN Solovelanet Global In their absence the stern is completely open, clear and very stylish, but in addition to the aft seats we also lose the two underlying lockers. This would not be a big problem if there were lockers under the cockpit benches, but the yard, after deep thinking, decided not to make lockers under the benches in order to create much larger and airier cabins, and as a matter of fact, as soon as you enter the aft cabins, the feeling of space and air is remarkable . For this reason, all the items that are usually stored into the lockers under the cockpit benches will have to be placed into the big lazarette that opens in the centre of the cockpit, between the two steering wheels. At the end of the cockpit, we find the bathing plat - form that is obtained by lowering the transom, which is done electrically and at a good speed. Once the platform is lowered, we also find the storage space for the liferaft, that can be tossed overboard with ease. Sea test As soon as we put to sea, we are pleased to note that the boat is equipped with a furling mainsail and a furling jib, both battened. The difference between this type of sails and the standard unbattened white sails is huge. The boat immediately catches up and in 11 knots of winds, travels at 7-8 knots upwind depending on the attention paid by the helmsman, i.e. your correspondent. In the late afternoon the wind speed increases by 4 -5 knots reaching more than 15 knots, and the boat travels steadily over 7.5 knots. Apart from the speed, that is certainly remar - kable on a boat conceived as a cruiser, what strikes us is the stability with which the boat keeps her course and speed. The gusts, although not strong, do not cause the boat to list too much. The steering wheels are particularly soft, and keep their lightness even when sailing heeled.Lostuzzi's choice to fit a single rudder blade is right, because the boat is not so wide aft as to require a double blade, and with the single blade you have all the power needed to control the boat perfectly. Then we sail a stretch under engine power, with no canvas up, and boat travels comfortably at a cruise speed of around 7.5 knots. Aside, a beautiful image of the boat sailing upwind. In this model, the mast is one metre longer than in the standard version. Below, the mainsheet point in the sport version that is not equipped with the roll-bar. Below, a photo and a ren- dering of the boat with the roll-bar
