The only thing we know is that the Dufour range
will remain between 61 and 31 feet, and this makes
us think, if the shipyard really wants to open up to
young people, that at least one of the two new mo-
dels will it be either a new 31-32 or a 34-36 footer.
Motteau explains that from now on, boats will be
available in three different versions: a first version,
named Easy, will be intended for the world of char-
ter. In addition to this kind of boat featuring many
cabins and a lower price, there are going to be the
Ocean version, designed for the owner who wants
comfort and elegance, and a Performance version
for those who love performance and desire a boat
suitable for making the most of the opportunities
offered by Mediterranean breezes.
Motteau, who is a former sailing champion, insists
a lot on performance. From his words it is clear
how he is trying to push the shipyard towards the
production of faster hulls that stand out from the
competition because of their performance, while
maintaining the agility of a sailing equipment that
allows the owner to sail the boat single-handed.
Behind Motteau's words there are many rumours
about the new arrangement of the shipyard which
changed its ownership about a year ago, from the
Italian Serio family to the all-French Fountaine fa
-
mily, which is recognized in the fund that owns at
present the majority of the shipyard.
