N
eo Yachts, the shipyard located in Bari, has intro-
duced the design of their fourth model, a 43-foo-
ter. This yacht, drawn once again by Giovanni Cecca-
relli, is intended to be a turning point in the company
production. To date, with the 350 and 400 this manu-
facturer has been targeting almost exclusively on the
racing world. The new 430 Roma caters to a broader
audience, racing enthusiasts who want their boat to
be also comfortable when cruising, albeit with the
inevitable limitations imposed by a focus on perfor
-
mance. The For this reason the boat, which has the
same 430 retains the family resemblance of the pre-
vious models but is designed for racing in IRC.
Two of these 430's have already been sold. The first
one was purchased by an Australian customer who
chose a fixed keel and a single-blade rudder, while
the second one was bought by an Italian owner who
ordered the optional retractable keel, suitable for
sailing along the shallow Adriatic coast.
This remarkable keel, designed by Cariboni for
NeoYachts, makes it possible to decrease the draft
from 3 to 1. 60 metres.
The 430 Roma is constructed full carbon vacuum
infusion, and other techniques that ensures the
quality is on par with the best European builders.
The only thing that is not on par is the price, which is
significantly lower than its direct competitors.
