"Our projects are neither ancient nor modern, they
are simply timeless because we never wanted to
adapt to passing trends. The designs of our cata-
marans are inspired by the ancient Polynesian
double canoes, designed and built to live on the
sea, and the sea will never change.
There is a large group of admirers of our projects
in Italy, but unfortunately, it looks like red tape
discourages the production of the larger (more
than 33 feet) Wharram models. And this is one of
the reasons why catamarans like our Tiki 30, or the
small Hitia 17, are so popular.
We have recently sold the Tiki 21 number 1000
(a model that has circumnavigated the globe on
several occasions) but there is no such thing as a
"secret ingredient" to explain the success of our
projects.
Wharram's projects build an intimate relationship
with those who bring them to life, a relationship
that is based on a simple lifestyle, and above all
on a simple way of sailing. This is the Wharram
philosophy.
