26 SVN Solovelanet Global NEWS T he arrival on the Spanish beach of Zurriola in San Sebastián of a team of policemen, some of whom were wearing the anti-Covid suit, was quite astonishing. And that astonishment turned into a real surprise when the police handcuffed a female surfer and took her away. A few days before, the young woman had received a Covid swab and tested positive. As required by the provisions in Spanish territory, that are quite similar to those enforced in Italy, she would have to comply with the mandatory fiduciary quarantine. But she decided not to follow the rules and, despite the danger she could represent for others, she went surfing. She has been arrested and will have to face criminal prosecution. Covid-positive female surfer arrested The moment of the arrest B oats get bigger and bigger, yachtsmen want more and more comfort, and that's why electric winches are so popular. But these handy to- ols have an inconvenience, and that is the motor. The electric motor is generally located under the winch and requires a lot of space to be installed. This greatly reduced the chance of mounting an electric winch on a boat where such an addition had not been consi - dered in the builder's plans. The Swedish company Selden solved the problem by integrating the electric motor in the drum. The new winch model, named E40i, is available in two versions, steel and aluminium. It is suitable for cruising boats, and despite being equip - ped with a three-speed electric motor, it looks just like a standard winch, or perhaps just a bit higher. In the E40i the electric motor is located inside the winch, and only three cables protrude. This allows you to install it in replacement of a standard winch without having to perform major changes. Once the winch has been mounted, it only needs to be connected to an electric line. Electric winches: E40i the winch with the in- tegrated motor The E40: this electric winch is destined to have a profound impact on the way boats are rigged, especially used boats where mounting an electric winch would be a very complex task
