All cabins have enough closets and cabinets for a
15-day cruise and maybe even more.
The dinette is very spacious. Its classic layout features
a couch wrapped around the dining table which can
be lowered to create a large double bed if desired.
Opposite this there are the C-shaped galley and the
large chart table.As we descend the companionway
stairs, we find two heads on the sides.
For this model the shipyard produced two layouts.
The one we have described is the 5-cabin version,
the most frequently used by charter companies,
but there is also a 4-cabin one, where the
starboard Pullman cabin is replaced by additional
space for the owner's stateroom, which becomes
much larger and is equipped with a dressing table
and a small couch.
Under power
The boat is equipped with a 75 Hp Volvo Penta drive
shaft engine.The cruising speed, around 2500 rpm, is 5
- 8 knots, but with maximum power it reaches 9 knots.
Your correspondent has also tested her under power
with the aid of the mainsail. In this configuration, the
boat sails peacefully at 8 knots and the engine is not
affected by her listing, if it is not excessive.
Buying from charter companies
In the second-hand market, two out of three boats
belong to charter companies, and the difference in
price is about 20% less than a boat of the same age
belonging to a private owner.It is hard to say whether
or not it is worth buying from charter companies.On
the one hand, it is in their best interest to keep their
boat perfectly efficient, because in case she breaks
down, they are going to lose a lot of money. On the
other hand, however, you should keep in mind that
ten years of charter use are tantamount to at least
thirty years of private use.
If you purchase a boat from a charter company, you
need to consider adding at least a new set of sails.
