The purpose was achieved by widening the side decks
in the aft area of the boat, and mainly the helmsman's
seat at the end of the walkway. In this way, it is pos-
sible to walk comfortably along the side deck to the
very stern and to descend into the cockpit from the
helmsman's seat with no trouble at all.
The silhouette
The profile of this new generation of Dufour models
is much more stylish and sportier than what we had
seen in the albeit attractive, previous models.
A very noticeable feature is the low and sleek co
-
achroof, which might suggest a loss of height and
space inside the boat. But when you actually go
under deck, you will be surprised at finding the cei-
ling at more than 1.95 metres height. This result was
achieved with a gimmick. It was not the coachroof
that was lowered, but the main deck that was raised,
thus making the superstructure less bulky, while main
-
taining remarkable height below deck.
In concrete terms, the designer has raised the free-
board, and even if this choice usually tends to wei-
gh down the silhouette, in this case it brought no di-
sadvantage to the line of the boat.Felci has done a
great job here.
