nal person to help the skipper. In the Oceanis, on
the other hand, all four winches, when there are
four, are moved aft, in front of the helm, so that
the helmsman can do everything on his own.
Jeanneau's greater focus on sailing and perfor-
mance is also evident in the sail plans, since the
standard sail plan is considerably more gene-
rously-sized in the Sun Odyssey than in the Oce-
anis. The sail plan area of the former is 110 sqm
with a 120% genoa. A choice that might appear
odd and perhaps a bit old-fashioned, but guaran-
tees good performances.
For its part, the Oceanis in the standard version
is equipped with the self-tacking genoa and the
battened mainsail, with a sail plan area of 88 sqm,
