SVN Solovelanet Global
The LC range, which includes the 42-footer that we
tried in this test, was created in 2013 immediately
after the Trevisan family purchased the yard. All
models in the range have been designed by Marco
Lostuzzi for the water lines and Nauta Design for the
style. The first model was the LC 46, followed two
years ago by the LC 52. The Grand Soleil LC42 is
the third and therefore, if only because of the expe
-
rience gathered so far, the most mature model of
the range. A typical feature of the LC range is the
roll-bar, even though it was not fitted on the boat we
tested because it is a sport version.
Evolution
There are several differences between the 42 and the
other two models. As Marco Lostuzzi points out, the 42
is smaller and more manageable, which is why it has
been possible to create a better canvas/displacement
ratio. This means that, in relation to her weight, this
boat carries more canvas and has a higher draft than
the other two models in the range, and this was done in
order to create a faster boat. "That could not be done
on the LC46 and LC 52 - Lostuzzi tells us - because by
loading more these boats, that have a higher displa
-
cement, it would have become more tiring to handle
them, and the ease of sailing, one of the most notable
qualities of this range, would have been lost".

you can see
the hull does

clearly visible.
