Thanks to the
particular de-

this cabin is
very spacious.

Conclusion
In our opinion the Grand Soleil LC42 is very
well centered on her purpose.Fast, pleasant to
handle under sail, easy to sail, relaxing, espe-
cially if you opt for the rig we tested, i.e. main-
sail furler and self-tacking jib with vertical-bat-
tened sails, a type of sails that is being chosen
by more and more customers of this shipyard.
Apart from the choice to not fit cockpit lockers,
we cannot say that we found any obvious pro
-
blems, those problems that we never fail to hi-
ghlight. What we recommend is the sport ver-
sion (she sails very well) with the low transom.
We would also choose to fit the aft helmsman's
seats in order to have two lockers for more con-
venience on board. To complete the equipment
we would add either a Parsail or a code 0: the
former for long sailing trips, the latter for use in
very light winds.
