20 SVN Solovelanet Global Boats news O ne of the most beautiful boats seen at the la- test Genoa Boat Show, and possibly the most beautiful boat of all, is the Solaris 64. This boat, in- troduced for the first time at the Dusseldorf show in Germany this year, is the little sister of the Solaris 68. It is a gorgeous, convenient and cutting-edge yacht. Its maximum beam is 5.40 metres and this decrea- ses very little to aft, thus providing a large unclutte- red bridge until the stern. Equipped with a double rudder blade and a slightly negative bow, the 64 is designed for very fast cruising. This boat is intended to be operated by her owner who, however, may request a forward cabin for a professional crew, at the cost of sacrificing the large sail store which comes with the standard layout. The quality level of Solaris is now very high, and the company is spending a lot of time examining featu- res that others do not take into consideration, such as soundproofing the cabins. A quiet cabin is essen- tial for good rest, and this is why Solaris has instal- led all the systems away from the cabins, so as not to disturb sleeping guests. Another new feature of the boat is her offset entrance. The companionway is considerably shifted to starboard, and this makes it possible to create a large living area on the left of the cockpit, with a big couch and a table with fold- down wings. Inside the boat we find three large ca- bins and three heads.
