C
orsair Marine has announced the introduction
of the new Corsair 880 trimaran at the Grand
Pavois boat show, due to take place at La Rochelle
from September 29th to October 4th. After that, she
will be shown in the USA, and in January 2021 at
the Boot in Düsseldorf. All this, of course, lockdown
permitting.
The shipyard, a member of the Australian Seawind
Catamarans group, has been one of the most impor
-
tant trimaran manufacturers in the world for over
30 years and is now introducing a model equipped
with folding hulls, easily trailerable and intended for
family cruises. The trimaran is safe, fairly inexpensi
-
ve to purchase and maintain, and very fast too.
In the 29 feet of this new model, we find a rede-
signed aft cabin, suitable for two people, and a
comfortable fore cabin for the owner.
A fifth berth can be obtained by lowering the central
salon table.
Innovations have been brought to the hull design
too, making this model even faster the previous
ones. During sea tests, the new Corsair 880 trima
-
ran reached a speed of nineteen knots.
